Thanks to Roger Rumer for sending the insightful article on Herman Cain's 9/9/9 plan from the Tax Policy Center of the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution. The regressive nature of the plan will undoubtedly give people reason to reconsider their support of the candidate. One aspect of his popularity of the moment is probably the specificity of the proposal as opposed to the well-boiled ocean opined by many of his opponents. FoxNews has recently commented on similar surges in popularity by Ms. Bachmann and Rick Perry. Time will undoubtedly tell with regard to Mr. Cain. See below.
